Barbara Ross loves Design. Her passion for good design, unique furnishings, function, and custom tailored interiors that reflect her clients, have set her work apart from her colleagues.
After receiving her BFA from Pratt Institute, where she is still an active alumnus, Barbara worked with the award winning Space Design Group, New York and 1975 was a founding partner at the celebrated New York firm Dexter Design. In 1988 Barbara founded her own design firm, BHR Design Group. Since then the firm has provided unique and exceptional interiors from Montecito to Paradise Island and beyond.
Over the years Barbara has worked with The Formica Corporation as a member of their Design Advisory Board and as their National Spokesperson. She also has been a Design Consultant to Kohler Industry, creating several of their trade exhibitions at The American Kitchen and Bath Shows.
She has created several room settings for The Kips Bay Show Houses and The Colonial Dames of America and table settings for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in their Fifth Avenue store
Barbara’s work has been published in; Architectural Digest, House and Garden, House Beautiful, Veranda, The New York Times, New York Spaces, Manhattan Magazine, Interior Design, Mountain Living, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens and many others as well as several international publications. She has also been a guest designer on several network television shows devoted to the world of Interior Design.
Barbara also sits on the boards of The Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Children, The Irondale Ensemble Theater, and The Jewish Outreach Institute. Barbara is a life -long New Yorker and shares her apartment happily with her Lakeland terrier, Maidie.
